Weekend Recap

How is it already Monday? Our weekends always seem to be way too short. The weather here has finally started to feel like winter again instead of spring and we even had a few snow flurries over the weekend. I have high hopes for some snow days in the near future. Today I'm sharing a little recap of our weekend. I've really been slacking at remembering to take pictures here lately and feel like I haven't had the time to blog as much as I want either. I'm going to try my best to do better this week though.

Friday after school I headed to the gym with my sister. Although I've been slacking when it comes to blogging, I had a really good week of eating healthy and working out. After our workout, I stopped by the drive-thru at Panera to pick up dinner and then headed home and spend the rest of my night watching Law & Order SVU with Chase. Now that we have our Fire Stick, we can finally catch up on the newest episodes so that's what we have been watching here lately.

Saturday morning I got up bright and early to workout with my momma and sister. After our workout, my mom and I had lunch, did some shopping, and then stopped by Starbucks before heading home.

Saturday evening Chase and I had dinner with some friends before he went to play basketball with some of his guy friends.

Sunday morning we went grocery shopping after church (so exciting, I know ;)) and then celebrated his Pappaw's and Sister's birthdays. We finished our Sunday with some more Law & Order.

I hope y'all have a great week!
XOXO

What's Up Wednesday

Hey y'all! Today I'm excited to be linking up with Shay for the first What's Up Wednesday of the year.

WHAT WE'RE EATING
This past week I made these yummy Baked Chicken Tacos...

Loaded Nachos...

and Potato Soup.

 WHAT I'M REMINSCING ABOUT
Last year at this time we so much snow, which meant lots of snow days. It's been in the 60s around here for the past few weeks and I'm currently dreaming about some snow days. :)

WHAT I'M LOVING
I started watching This is Us this past weekend after I kept hearing so many good things about it and I CAN'T GET ENOUGH.

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO
Nothing too exciting, just our usual routine.

WHAT I'M DREADING
I got observed yesterday and it went really well. Next week I get observed again and I guess you could say I'm dreading it. You'd think I'd be use to it by now.

WHAT I'M WORKING ON
I've been working on being healthier. Working out, eating healthy, etc. So far I'm doing okay, but I could definitely be doing better.

WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT
The weekend! :)

WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING
As usual, I've been watching The Bachelor every Monday night.

Did I already mention how much I love this show?

WHAT I'M LISTENING TO
I've been listening to my 90s, 2000s, and Today's Hits Pandora station while working out here lately.

WHAT I'M WEARING
I've seriously been slacking when it comes to taking pictures of my outfits here lately. On Saturday the sun was out for the first time in probably two weeks, and it was in the high 60s so I took advantage and pulled out my converse and one of my favorite light jackets.

I wore this outfit to school yesterday. I ordered this dress from The Mint Julep Boutique and LOVE it. The picture doesn't do it justice, but I'm in love with the ruffle around the bottom.

WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND
As of right now, we don't have any big plans.

WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH
I'm looking forward to Valentine's Day. :)

MY FAVORITE BACHELOR/BACHELORETTE

I had a hard time trying to choose just one bachelor that I liked best so I narrowed it down to two. Ben Higgins and Sean Lowe have hands down been two of my faves. They both seemed so genuine while on the show.

And my favorite Bachelorette was an easy one. Emily Maynard was such a sweet and genuine Bachelorette. I just loved watching her season.

XOXO

Weekend Recap

How is it possible that the weekend is already over? This is definitely going to be me this week. I have a big observation on Tuesday and starting tomorrow some other changes are happening at school that I'm pretty excited about, but will be a bit stressful at first. I'm praying for some much needed snow days in the weeks to come, but since it's been in the 60's for the past two weeks I'm not getting my hopes up. Today I'm sharing a little recap of our weekend. Our weekend was pretty uneventful, which was a blessing since I woke up not feeling the best on Saturday morning.

Friday evening when I came home from work I spent a few hours cleaning the house up so I wouldn't have to worry about it the rest of the weekend. When Chase got home from work we ordered some take out, then came home and watched  some Harry Potter while we ate. Harry Potter never gets old. :)

Saturday morning I woke up with a sore throat and headache so I spent my morning taking it easy on the couch while Chase helped his dad around the farm. I've been doing a pretty good job of reading my bible daily, but haven't got to journal in a while so I took advantage of my time alone and did some journaling.

I have heard so many good things about This is Us, but hadn't watched it yet. On Saturday morning I decided to start watching and I can't get enough. Why didn't I start watching sooner??? I watched  five episodes on Saturday morning and seven on Sunday. Now I'm patiently waiting for the next episode.

Saturday afternoon I was feeling a bit better so Chase and I went out for lunch/dinner, and did some truck shopping for him. He has been looking for a new truck for a few months and isn't having the best luck finding what he wants.

Sunday morning I woke up feeling even worse than I had on Saturday so I skipped church so I could get some rest. I spent my day on the couch watching This is Us and ended up making some potato soup in the crock pot Sunday afternoon.

I hope y'all have a great week!
XOXO

Weekend Recap - Late Edition

Happy Wednesday y'all! Today I'm sharing a little recap of our weekend. I had big plans to spend my Monday off catching up on blogging for the week, but ended up spending my entire day in town running errands, truck shopping for Chase, and waiting around for my car to get fixed. My car had been acting funny for a few weeks and we took it in on Monday and it turned out that there had been a recall. Since we didn't have an appointment we ended up having to wait around all day.

Friday night Chase and his brother went out with some friends, and this girl and I had a movie night in. She picked up some wings on her way over and we had the best time stuffing our faces and watching movies.

Saturday morning I was up early to hit the gym with my momma. After three miles, we decided to quit and headed to eat lunch.

We had lunch at Corner Bakery... one of our FAVES. After lunch my mom went grocery shopping with me and then I headed home. I napped for while, and then Chase and I spent the rest of our Saturday watching some Shameless. Such an exciting Saturday. ;)

Sunday morning we headed to church.

And ate at our favorite Hibachi restaurant. #somuchforeatinghealthy

Sunday's church outfit.

Like I mentioned earlier, we spent our Monday running errands. We FINALLY got home around 6:30. Just in time to cook these amazing Oven Baked Chicken Tacos for dinner and watch the Bachelor before bed.

Yesterday I came home from work to find that my items from the Lilly Sale had came in! I was so excited. I'll be sharing what I got with y'all here in the next few weeks.

Have a great day!
XOXO

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! I hope y'all have had a good week. This week was a LONG one for me with it being our first full week back to school, but I'm super thankful for the three day weekend ahead. Today I'm linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for Friday Favorites.

I bought Chase an Amazon Fire Stick for Christmas and it has become a favorite for both of us. When we first got married we decided not to get satellite so that we could save a little money, and I have been missing some of my favorite shows. With our fire stick I have been able to start catching up on all my shows and we can watch pretty much any more that we want to as well.

I bought this Essie polish last week at Ulta and LOVE it. It's called In Stitches. In person it looks a little more pink than it does in the picture.

I mentioned these Sperry Duck Boots on my Fashion Trend Thursday post yesterday. With all the snow and cold weather that we had last week, these boots have been on repeat. Not only are they super cute, but they are also comfy, and keep my feet warm. I love that I can wear them so many ways too.

This Patagonia Vest has also been on repeat lately. I have been styling it so many different ways and I can't get enough of it. You can see more details about it on yesterday's post as well.

I'm a sucker for cute mugs and this Anthropology mug that my little brother got me for Christmas is a new favorite of mine. :)

I'm not sure how I missed this on my Friday Favorites last week, but one of my favorite shows came back on last Monday. I have been watching The Bachelor for years and although I'm not a huge Nick fan, I still can't help but watch. My best friend and I started the tradition of watching it together back in high school and we still hangout and watch it every Monday that we can. And if you're a Bachelor fan and aren't familiar with Shaffer's Bachelor Recaps, you should go check them out. I seriously look forward to these recaps every Wednesday.

I hope y'all have the BEST weekend!
XOXO

Fashion Trend Thursday

Happy Thursday! This first full week back to school has seemed SO long and has me completely worn out. I've totally already been slacking on m New Years Goal of getting in 4 workouts per week. I've only made it to the gym once this week and haven't worked out at home any. Our 3-day weekend can't get here fast enough!

Anyways...Today I'm sharing some of my favorite fashion trends from this week and my Patagonia vest is #1 on the list.

Chase got me this Patagonia vest for Christmas and I have been wearing it non-stop.
I wore it to church on Sunday with one of my favorite American Eagle sweaters, a blanket scarf, and my TOMS booties.

A little close up...

And I wore it to school on Monday with a flannel, black Pixie Pants, and riding boots.

I love it because it can be dressed up or down. I've also been pairing it with leggings, my Sperry Duck Boots (or Hunter's), and an oversized sweatshirt or t-shirt, when I'm out running errands or just hanging out around the house.

And it's SO SOFT. :)

Speaking of duck boots (link above), mine have been on repeat here lately. Last weekend with all of the snow I just wanted to be comfy and keep my feet warm, and my duck boots, paired with leggings, and this monogram sweatshirt from Marley Lilly were perfect.

I love that duck boots can be styled so many different ways as well.

I also have this quilted pair. They're kind of an army green color, with a brown matte and I LOVE them.

Thanks for reading today! I'll be back tomorrow sharing my Friday Favorites!
Hope y'all have a great day!
XOXO

A Day in the Life

So I have been wanting to do a Day in the Life post for a while now, and decided I would document my first day back to school last Tuesday. This may not have been the best time do to it because the first day back is crazy as it is and I kept forgetting to take pictures. These posts are always one of my favorites to read when other bloggers do them!

I'm usually up around 4:30-4:45, but got a late start on this morning. Sleeping in for two weeks straight makes it hard to get up on that first day back. ;) I got up around 5 and remembered to snap this picture after getting out of the shower.

I had oatmeal, fresh fruit, and coffee for breakfast.

Spent some time reading my bible.

And some of my favorite blogs.

Then I finished getting ready.

And left the house around 6:50.

I got to school around 7:15 and got to work. It was a long, but good day back.

I got home around 3:40, had a snack, changed clothes, and headed to the gym.

My sister and I have been working out together. Having a workout partner keeps me more motivated to actually go to the gym.

I left the gym around 6:30 and headed to Panera to pick up dinner and lunch for tomorrow. I didn't feel like cooking or packing my lunch for the next day.

Once I got home, I sat down and watched some Shameless with Chase. It felt SO good to sit down and relax for a bit.

After a few episodes, we headed to bed and I spent a few minutes reading on my nook before going to sleep.

I put my nook away at 9:14 and fell asleep in a matter of seconds. ;)

XOXO
