Life Lately

Happy Thursday y'all! This past weekend was crazy and this week has been just as busy. Friday afternoon can't get here quick enough. Next week we will be on Spring Break and I couldn't be more excited for all that we have planned. Today I'm sharing a lot of pictures along with a little bit about what we've been up to here lately.

Last weekend was so crazy that we were both more exhausted on Sunday night than we had been before the weekend started. There were so many exciting things going on.
We were up bright and early on Saturday morning to volunteer at our Church's annual Single Mother's Oil Change. This was our first time to volunteer at this event and we were so excited (me more than Chase. Haha.) My sister and her boyfriend had signed up too and we all got to work together so that made it fun. We signed up to wash cars and ended up washing over 130 cars that morning. We were both worn out after. ;)

When we finished washing cars we headed to help me sister-in-law decorate for her wedding shower the next day.

Then we got ready and headed to town to meet some family for dinner to celebrate my birthday on Monday.

We tried a new place that we had both been wanting to try and it did not disappoint.

Love my momma!

Sunday morning after church, we headed to my sister-in-law's wedding shower.

This was the best picture I got of the 4 of us. I'm not even looking at the camera.

My sis-in-law and her bridesmaids.

Everyone worked so hard on the decorations and it turned out so pretty.

I loved how this area was set up. We started making that backdrop about a month ago and a lot of hard work went into making it come together, but it turned out so pretty.

On Tuesday, my momma, brother, and I had dinner and Starbucks, and headed to visit my grandparents. They wanted to give me my birthday gift and see us all before we leave for vacation this weekend.

Yesterday I got home and my fab fit fun box had come in the mail. #happybirthdaytome

It was full of so many great goodies. I'll be sharing some of them soon!

Hope y'all have a great Thursday!
XOXO

Show and Tell Tuesday Favorite Pictures Edition

Happy Tuesday y'all! We are FOUR short days away from Spring Break and that is the only thing getting me through this week. Today I'm linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday. Today we're supposed to be sharing our top 5 pictures, but there is no way I could narrow it down to just 5, so I'm sharing 10. I had to steal some of these pictures from my Facebook and Instagram accounts so some are not the best quality. :)

These are in no particular order:

ONE
This picture was taken on our eighth grade trip to Holiday World. I love this picture because it reminds me of how far we have come. It's hard to believe this was almost 10 years ago.

TWO
This picture from our senior prom has always been a favorite of mine. I'm so glad that Chase's sister happened to capture this moment.

THREE
The night we got engaged was so special and I'm so thankful we got to share it with our families.

 FOUR
This will forever be one of my favorite pictures EVER.

FIVE
This picture was taken on our family vacation to Florida in 2013. This was one of my favorite vacation ever and this picture brings back so many great memories. I'm thankful to have these two for siblings.

SIX
This was on Christmas Eve 2009. I was a sophomore in high school. We built our gingerbread house, got our camera set up, and it started to fall apart as soon as we lifted it up.

SEVEN
Father's Day 2015 with my sweet daddy. I love this picture of all of us. This was his last Father's Day with us so that makes this picture even more special.

EIGHT
We took a family trip to Georgia in 2014. We spent a week in Savannah and a few nights in Atlanta on our way home.

NINE
My momma and I on my wedding day. I love this woman so much and am so thankful for everything she does for me.
TEN
This picture of all of my best friends and I on my wedding day is another favorite. I love that our photographer captured this moment.

I hope y'all have a great day!
XOXO

Friday Favorites

It's finally Friday y'all and I couldn't be happier. Next week at this time I'll be extra happy because we'll officially be on Spring Break! The next few weeks/weekends are going to be a little crazy, but so much fun. I'm in two weddings and the next six weekends are going to be filled with bachelorette parties, wedding festivities, a spring break trip to TX, wedding number 1, a girls weekend, and wedding number 2. Today I'm linking up with Erika for Friday favorites. I haven't linked up in a few weeks so I'm excited to be linking up today.

A few weeks ago I shared some of my Spring decorations. Decorating is always a favorite of mine and I love how much the Spring colors brighten up our home.

TWO
Here  in KY it has gone from feeling like spring to feeling like winter again, and thankfully we've had a few warmer temps this week.  This was one of my favorite outfits from this past week. My lucky booties are most definitely a favorite as well.

THREE

I just finished doing Whole 30 last week and I couldn't be happier with the results. Although my 30 days are up, I'm still doing my best to stay healthy by doing Whole 30 during the week and having some "cheats" on the weekends. Sweets are my weakness, especially ice cream so I wanted to find something I could have as a treat during the week as well. I found both of these ice creams at Kroger last week and thought I'd give them a try. Both of these options are SO good yall. They come in a ton of different flavors too.

FOUR
This shirt is a new favorite. Yall know how much I LOVE me some Gilmore Girls. I found  this shirt on Jane for 12.99 and I'm obsessed.

Last Friday was cold and rainy so I paired it with a comfy cardigan and my hunter boots, which are another favorite of mine. :)

FIVE
On Tuesday I shared a little recap of this past weekend. I literally had the BEST weekend celebrating one of my best friends' (and future sister-in-law) at her bachelorette party.

I hope yall have the best weekend!
XOXO

Weekend Recap

Happy Tuesday friends! I hope y'all had a great weekend. We had such a fun weekend and I was sad to see it go. Knowing that this coming weekend is my birthday weekend and that there are only ten days until Spring Break made going to work yesterday a little more bearable. Today I'm sharing a little recap of our exciting weekend with yall.

Friday I got off work a little earlier than usual, so I went to town to run some errands. I met Chase in town and we met some friends for dinner. After dinner we all watched the U.K. game together.

Saturday was such an exciting day.
My brother-in-law and his fiance are getting married in less than 3 weeks. His fiance happens to be one one of my best friends and Saturday we had a fun day planned for her bachelorette party. We left Bowling Green around 10 Saturday morning and headed to Nashville for a fun filled day. She had no idea where we were headed. It was all a surprise. :)

Her sister and another one of her friends had made us all an appointment to take dance class at Studio Goddess in downtown Nashville and it was seriously so much fun. We started the class with a champagne toast to the bride to be, and spent the next hour and a half learning a hip-hop dance routine. It was something none of us had done before and we all had the best time.

We ended our morning with mimosas and snacks. All of this was included in our package at Studio Goddess.

Next we headed downtown for lunch at Demos'. This place is one of my favorites so I was super excited for lunch. :)

After lunch, we headed back to Bowling Green to get ready for the night. Hollie's sister and best friend planned the whole day/night so none of us knew what the plans were for the night. We got ready and then headed to meet everyone.
Love this sweet girl. It's crazy that she'll officially be my sister-in-law in a few short weeks.

It turns out that her sister and best friend had planned the cutest Bridal Shower. They had some yummy food, drinks, and games set up and we all just spent the night hanging out, laughing, and celebrating with the bride to be. :)

Love all these girls!

We spent our Saturday night apart since he was throwing his brother's bachelor party on the same night, so Sunday we had a much needed lazy day together. I spent the day in my comfy clothes and didn't bother putting on any makeup. My kinda Sunday. ;)

We had such a fun weekend and the next few weekends are going to be just as busy. I'm already looking forward to Friday.

I hope yall have the best week!
XOXO

Workin' It- Balancing Work and Home Life

Today I'm linking up with Shay and Erika for their monthly Workin' It Wednesday on a Monday. :) Today I'm sharing all about how I balance life at work and home.

1. Plan Ahead
I try my best to plan ahead for the week starting on Sunday evenings. I've always been a planner and if I don't plan ahead for the week I'm usually running behind and it throws off my entire day. I usually plan my outfits for the week on Sundays and do my best to meal prep for the week on Sundays or at least pack my lunch a day ahead of time if I don't meal prep. I also do small things like getting our coffee ready and planning my breakfasts every night to prepare for the next day.

2. Get up Early
This is something that I have just started doing in the past six months, but it has made a huge difference. I'm usually up by 4:30 each morning. I can get a lot done by getting up earlier than usual each day. I had been struggling to find time to read my bible daily and getting up extra early has allowed me to have time to do that each morning. I'm also able to get to work earlier and get more done in the mornings when I get up early.

3.Use my Time at Work Wisely
It can be easy to get off track at work when thinking of the huge "to do" list that I have to complete. I try to focus on one task at a time and use all my extra time such as lunches and planning periods to get work done. By doing this and coming in a little early each morning, I have less to take home with me in the evenings.

4. I Very Rarely Bring Work Home on the Weekends
I work hard and try my best to get a lot accomplished during the school week so that I don't have to bring things home on the weekends. As a teacher, sometimes it is inevitable, but I'm much happier if I can spend my weekend focused on my husband and family. This gives me a good break from school work and I can go in on Monday ready to get things done.

These are just a few small things that I do each week to try to keep my home life/work life balanced, but I could ALWAYS use more tips. I'm so excited to see what some of your tips are!

XOXO

Weekend Recap

Happy Tuesday y'all! We had a MUCH NEEDED three day weekend. Our high school girls' basketball team made it to the state championship so last week it was decided that we would dismiss early on Thursday and would be off all day Friday so that everyone had a chance to attend the game. This three day weekend came at the perfect time, and now we are only three weeks away from Spring  Break! Today I'm sharing a recap of our super low key weekend.

I started off my Friday with a trip to town to run some errands. I stopped by Starbucks on my way home and spent the rest of my day relaxing.

It was so nice to spend my Friday catching up on some of my favorite shows and some reading. Friday night Chase and I stayed at home and started a new series. We are now hooked on Chicago PD.

Saturday morning I was up early to meet my mom at the gym. Friends was on and it was a great workout.

After the gym my momma and I had lunch. Chase and I had planned to go out on Saturday night but he wasn't feeling well so I picked up some food for dinner and we ended up staying home and having a lazy night in. Since the next SIX weekends are going to be busy for us, I was thankful for a lazy weekend spent at home.

I tired to get him to take a picture with me on Sunday morning before church and he obviously wasn't feeling it.

After church we went riding around the farm and it was SO COLD so after riding around for about 30 minutes or so we decided to call it a day.

But our view was gorgeous!

My father-in-law had two brand new baby sheep that we stopped to see and they were seriously the CUTEST little things.

We spent the rest of our night meal prepping, and watching Chicago PD. :)

Hope y'all have a great week!
XOXO
